He polled 62 out of 65 votes in district assembly elections organized for assembly members to determine whether to accept or reject him.
Mr. Barima was relieved of his post earlier this year after he angrily made the now famous ‘tweaa’ statement in reaction to a ‘rude’ interruption he encountered while making a speech at a gathering of health workers in the district.
The video of his reaction which went viral led to his subsequent firing from his post.
He was only re-instated in August this year after several people including the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia pleaded on his behalf.
And it was yesterday that he formally received an over-whelming endorsement from the Assembly members.
