Sarkodie’s email hacked, hacker uses account to beg for money

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is currently not a happy man. His official email account for his major transactions and bookings has been hacked.
The award winning musician announced and warned unsuspecting persons that an unknown person had hacked into his email account.
Just like imposters, who use a celebrity’s identity to lure and dupe fans, hackers deploy a different modus operandi. They target valid accounts of the celebrity, hack into the accounts and use them to dupe fans.
Sarkodie disclosed on microblogging site twitter on Monday that “Ma email got hacked .... Dude sending people emails asking ma contacts for money smh!!”
The ‘You Go Kill Me’ singer attached a screenshot of an email the hacker sent to UK-based Ghana radio presenter DJ Abrantee.
In the email, the hacker asks the DJ for some financial assistance although he or she did not mention the exact amount needed.
“Good afternoon and how are you doing bro ? I need your urgent help little amount of money to someone for something very important and will be happy if you can help me with this and i will surely refund it back to you one i am back,” the hacker said.
It is unclear how many people the hacker has contacted but Sarkodie’s message shows the hacker has contacted quite a sizable number of his friends.

Nigeria boils: "INEC boss is tribalistic, partial, compromised; We will not accept results" – PDP

The incumbent party in Nigeria, PDP has said it will not accept the results of the recently held elections.

Its agent at the collation centre Tuesday morning launched an acerbic attack on the head of the country’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega, accusing him of bias.
According to the PDP agent, who is a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Jega gave audience to a protest raised by the APC as far as results in Rivers state were concerned, but has swept similar protests raised by the PDP in four states under the carpet.

“Mr Chairman APC protested to you and you sent a delegation to Rivers state to see what is happening there...

“Mr Chairman we are beginning to see that you are very very selective. You are getting very very partial.

“Mr Chairman we have lost confidence in what you are doing. If we can send a protest to you and you cannot take up that protest then why are we here because the essence of we sending any protest to you is to enable you to look into the matter and see whether it has merits or demerits.

“But when the APC brought their own you went all out to send a delegation…We have complained about Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna; you have not done anything. Mr Chairman we are not going to take that. We have lost confidence in you because you are partial, you are selective Mr Chairman.

“We don’t believe in you anymore, and we cannot go on the way you are going. You are compromised and we will not take it from you. Until something is done to our letters, until you do something the way you did with APC we will not continue with you.

“You are selective, you are tribalistic, you are partial…until something is done, we will not allow you to continue with this thing. Nigeria will not allow you do this. Every protest must be taken seriously,” the angry PDP agent said.

The collation has come to a standstill as a result of the angry outburst and protest by the PDP.

The BBC reports that partial results give ex-military ruler Muhammadu Buhari a substantial lead over the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan.

However, populous states such as Lagos and Rivers are yet to declare.
With just over half of Nigeria's states declared, Gen Buhari's All Progressives Congress (APC) is ahead by some two million votes.

A victory for Gen Buhari would make President Jonathan the first incumbent in Nigeria to lose an election.

More results are due to be announced today. Nigeria's election commission (Inec) suspended its declarations late on Monday night, after giving the results for 18 states and the capital Abuja.

President Jonathan's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gained 6,488,210 votes and Gen Buhari's APC party received 8,520,436 votes.

Television host, Gifty Anti has denied reports that she would be filling to contest as Member of Parliament (MP) on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

New premix board in the offing – Allotey Jacobs

Central Region Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that a new premix committee will soon be set up.
This follows the dissolution of the previous committee in the wake of corruption allegations leveled against it by Mr Allotey jacobs.
Minister of Fisheries, Sherry Ayittey last week dissolved the premix board but a group of fishermen Monday March 30, 2015 stormed the ministries to demand the head of the minister because the dissolution did not go down well with them.
The fishermen say the minister refused to consult them before dissolving the committee.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs, who had earlier called on the minister to dissolve the committee, said composition of a new one is ongoing and will soon be announced and subsequently inaugurated.
He also announced an audit of all landing beaches.
"Thousands of people have congratulated Madam Ayittey for dissolving the board. In fact, she has done the right thing because the previous board has embezzled millions of Ghana cedis and as a party, because we (NDC) don’t condone illegalities, we need to stop those acts” he stated on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Tuesday.

Big boys join NPP race

Some interesting but ‘big' names are popping up as likely contestants in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
They include the names of George Andah, former Chief Operating Officer of Glo Ghana and a leading member of pressure group, OccupyGhana.
The rest include lawyer Phillip Addison, one of the lead counsel for the NPP in the 2012 Election Petition and his colleague Egbert Faibille Jnr, journalist Kenneth Adjei Kuranchie, who is the Managing Editor of the 'Daily Searchlight' newspaper, former host of Joy FM's 'Super Morning Show', Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and former TV anchor, Gifty Anti of Ghana Television (GTV).
With the exception of Lawyer Philip Addison, who has openly shown interest and started campaigning, the rest have not declared their intentions publicly, even though they are all said to be nursing the ambition to become MPs on the ticket of the NPP.
In the case of George Andah, he has not only expressed interest but indeed confirmed his intention to contest the Ewutu Senya West parliamentary primary.
The seat is currently occupied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Madam Hannah Tetteh.
His candidature was given a tacit endorsement by OccupyGhana yesterday when news of his decision went public, with a statement saying, "OccupyGhana is equally satisfied and excited that George has decided to take his rare qualities another step; this time into mainstream politics to occupy Parliament in order to help change the dwindling fortunes of this country."v
For them, "Ghana is richer for a person like him making a sacrifice of leadership. Who is better placed to help Ghana work, than one of our own in the forefront? People like George make us believe Ghana will work again."
They therefore see it as "a blessing because we believe this gives him the opportunity to have direct influence in making sure Ghana works. We believe that as a member of OccupyGhana, George will be guided by the ethics, principles, values and qualities of OccupyGhana and make a significant, positive impact that will make Ghana work. Indeed, we promise George that as a member of OccupyGhana, we shall hold him to that task."
Lawyer Addison is facing stiff opposition from young Nii Noi Nortey who resigned his position as constituency chairman for Klottey Korley sometime last week to enable him contest in the upcoming primary.
Lawyer Egbert Faibille Jnr, who happens to be the former Editor-in-Chief of the 'Ghanaian Observer' newspaper, is also said to be monitoring closely developments in the NPP and would stick his neck out to contest the Weija/Gbawe constituency primary if the party sets aside its earlier decision to disallow men from contesting any of their 16 incumbent female Members of Parliament (MP) in the upcoming primary scheduled for May 24, 2015.
The seat is currently occupied by Madam Rosemond Comfort Abrah who became MP in the last elections held in 2012.
Also lurking in the shadows is journalist Kenneth Adjei Kuranchie who is said to be seriously gearing up to contest in the Okaikoi North constituency primary of the NPP; all things being equal.
It is not clear if MP for the area, Elizabeth Sackey, third time even though that option still remains open.
The name of Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has also emerged as likely to contest in Ofoase-Ayirebi on the ticket of the NPP.
He resigned as host of Joy FM's flagship programme sometime last year to do his own business and has since remained underground for some time with few public appearances.
The young man is said to be enjoying a lot of support on the ground and is likely to unsettle incumbent MP for the area, David Oppon-Kusi, if he indeed decides to run for the position.
Even though not much is known about her political ambitions, sources have also said Madam Gifty Anti is likely to contest in the primary of Ajumako constituency.
That however awaits a declaration of intent to confirm the growing speculation.
