Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie is
currently not a happy man. His official email account for his major
transactions and bookings has been hacked.
The award winning musician announced
and warned unsuspecting persons that an unknown person had hacked into his
email account.
Just like imposters, who use a
celebrity’s identity to lure and dupe fans, hackers deploy a different
modus operandi. They target valid accounts of the celebrity, hack into the
accounts and use them to dupe fans.
Sarkodie disclosed on microblogging
site twitter on Monday that “Ma email got hacked .... Dude sending people
emails asking ma contacts for money smh!!”
The ‘You Go Kill Me’ singer attached
a screenshot of an email the hacker sent to UK-based Ghana radio presenter DJ
Abrantee.
In the email, the hacker asks the DJ
for some financial assistance although he or she did not mention the exact
amount needed.
“Good afternoon and how are you
doing bro ? I need your urgent help little amount of money to someone for
something very important and will be happy if you can help me with this and i
will surely refund it back to you one i am back,” the hacker said.
It is unclear how many people the
hacker has contacted but Sarkodie’s message shows the hacker has contacted
quite a sizable number of his friends.
