Workers of the Metro Mass Transit Service in Kumasi on Monday December 15 protested against the disappearance 12 buses from their yard.
According to Nhyira FM’s Ohemeng Tawiah, investigations confirmed that twelve buses have been moved out of the company’s yard under mysterious circumstances.
The angry protesters were clad in red outfits to register their displeasure and demand answers from management.
Ohemeng Tawiah who has been investigating the matter reported that at least two of the buses have been sighted at an auto mechanic workshop in Kumasi.
Checks at the Kumasi office also revealed that four buses were towed away on Saturday and Sunday night in January, this year, following a supposed ‘order from above’.
The Minister for Transport, Dzifa Attivor on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Wednesday indicated that the main objective of the committee is to determine whether allegations leveled by the workers is true or not.
She indicated that anyone found culpable will face the full rigours of the law.
“Though I am not aware of the whole issue surrounding these missing buses, the committee which has been set up will make us know who is guilty and who is not” she said.
