The meeting between the judges hearing the election petition at the Supreme Count, parties involved in the election petition case and audit firm, KPMG to consider the report on the pink sheet audit, has been postponed to Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the first and third respondents in the ongoing election petition case, Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu confirmed the news to Citi News.
According to Mr. Adawudu the meeting was re-scheduled because the petitioners had not been served with the interim report on time to allow for perusal before the meeting.
“The meeting could not come on; it has been re-scheduled for tomorrow morning, where counting and everything will take place. That was the concern they [petitioners] raised; the fact that they did not receive the interim report in good time. That was the concern raised; that they will want to look at the interim report before they go on.
The parties agreed that they should look at it and tomorrow the process will continue.”
He noted that the interim report basically stated the process KPMG went through in analyzing the pink sheets, what they counted and what their findings were.
KPMG was appointed by the Supreme Court to audit pink sheets submitted as evidence by the petitioners challenging the results of the December 2012 presidential election.
The petitioners and the respondents in the case have disagreed over the actual number of pink sheets submitted by the petitioners to the court’s registry.
