Media must not be used to peddle falsehood - Asantehene

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has called on the media and journalists “to stand up and defend the integrity and honour of their profession as a profession of truth and not peddlers of falsehood.”

His call comes in the wake of reports alleging that he [Otumfuo Osei Tutu II] was used as a conduit to bribe the Justices of the Supreme Court who sat on the election petition to rule in favour in President Mahama.

But speaking at a Special Congregation of the University for Professional Studies where he was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree together with the Speaker of Parliament, Doe Adjaho and Former Defense Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II admonished media personnel to be mindful of the sources of stories by “finding out the truth” before publishing the stories.
