World Cup trophy in Palestine, Ghana anxiously awaits turn

The 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil will be the best world cup ever as Ronaldo of Brazil puts it in one of his speeches in London.
Ghana is a step closer as its national team, the Black Stars, will be playing its final qualifier with Egypt on 19 November. Ghana leads 6-1 going into that second-leg playoff.
Several efforts by the Ghana Football Association to have the match moved from Cairo has proved futile as FIFA has confirmed the match to be played at the Air Defence Stadium in Cairo.
At a press launch for the World Cup trophy Tour, sponsors Coca-Cola made it clear that Ghana can’t wait to host the trophy, having done it in style on two occasions. The first time it came to Ghana was in 2006 and then in 2010.
Palestine, now hosting the trophy and it will depart to Jordan in the Middle East before touching North Africa, Egypt to be precise.
By its plans, Coca-Cola is saying the trophy will first be made accessible to the first gentleman of the land, the president, at the Flagstaff House with a presidential gala match before going to the international press center for the public.
The first time the original FIFA World Cup Trophy made an unprecedented tour was in 2006. This is the third time the world’s most coveted symbol of football is going on tour around the world. The 2013/14 Trophy Tour will visit 88 countries during its 267-day duration.
Rainbowradioonline.com and Ghana Sports will keep listeners and readers updated as Ghana awaits the FIFA World Cup Trophy on 25-26 November.
