A journalist from Kumasi-based Ashh fm, Shaibu Lasisi was assaulted at the voting centre in the Manhyia North constituency. He said he tried to report on assault of one of the delegates that had come there to vote. He told Adom TV that his recorder was seized after he had been slapped and manhandled while reporting on the case.
He continued that a Metro TV reporter who tried to intervene was also threatened that his camera would be seized as well if he tries to cover the assault. Shaibu claimed the people who assaulted him were known NPP members and that he and his editor would report the case to the police.

9:30 AM - Few hitches
The NPP delegates’ congress has been characterized by few hitches including delegates not finding their names in the voters register. These problems, NPP’s Director of Elections, Agyei Mensah Korsah admitted would be rectified by the party leadership. Ashanti Regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako said he is on his way to Asawase to rectify such a problem
From New Edubiase in the Ashanti region, Isaac Normenya reported that some delegates are angry because they were served with kenkey with fish but the party chairman Mr. Boahen wondered why they should reject the food because he made the arrangements with his own money.

Seth Kwame Boateng from Dome Kwabenya also reported that there was a peaceful atmosphere at the voting centre but their main challenge has to do with food because some delegates were complaining of hunger.
Delegates from the Ashanti region have already started casting their votes. Our reporter in the Manhyia North constituency reports that the delegates have been served with foods and have been giving money for transport back to their homes.
