Stop the dirty social media campaign – Awuku to NPP youth

Sammy Awuku, National Youth Organiser of NPP
The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Awuku has called on the youth in the party to let sanity prevail on social media as the party goes to polls tomorrow to elect a flagbearer.
According to him, social media sites such as facebook have become a venue for people to throw mud at senior figures in the party.
And this, he said was not in the interest of the party.
“As the clock ticks for us to go to polls tomorrow, I urge all our youth to be circumspect when interacting on the social media because I think that is the main cause of fights amongst our youth. Dirty campaign on social media must stop..,” he said on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show.
He noted that winning the 2016 election is not an option but a must and so he expects all party faithful to come together and work hard for victory.
“We need more empowered youth in our country and so it is our responsibility to make them responsible because when the NPP comes to power in 2016, we will change the dying economy..,” he noted.
Mr. Awuku was however impressed about the conduct of the spokespersons of the various flagbearer hopefuls, and asked that they remain the same till the congress is over.
The NPP will head to the polls to elect a flagbearer who will lead the party into the 2016 general elections.
The three persons vying to lead the NPP into the 2016 elections are Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Francis Addai-Nimoh and Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten.
